The Metropolitan Palace Hotel - Dubai has hosted a never-before "Palace goes Malaysian festival from 1st -8th of April 2004. The festival has seen the Palace truly turning Malaysian with numerous choices of dishes from Malaysian cuisine at the participating outlets, and a rare chance to discover the colourful cultural elements of Malaysia. The festival was jointly organized with Tourism Malaysia and Qatar Airways.

As part of the food promotion, three Malaysian chefs namely Zek Abdul Rahman, RAshid bin Razali and Mohd Saad bin Othman were specially flown in from Kuala Lumpur by Qatar Airways to prepare the authentic Malaysian dishes throughout the festival. Best of all, there was features by Rozakir bin Abdul Rahman, the famous Batik demonstrator. All this has created an ambience that is uniquely Malaysian. This unique festival has come to an end with a "Malaysian Gala Night" organized on Thursday, 8th April at Al Hamra Ballroom, the Metropolitan Palace Hotel - Dubai.

More excitement was added to the night with a special performance by a top Malaysian entertainer Ms Arnieza Amir. Though a newcomer, Arnieza, is very popular in Malaysia and will be going to Los Angels this coming May to record two duets with 98 Degrees vocalist Jeff Timmons. The legendary American pianist Jim Brickman, wilil accompany her.
