Gonzalo Etcheverry is a bilingual journalist and sport photographer. He was born in Uruguay, but currently lives in Sotogrande, Spain.

He studied journalism in Montevideo, Uruguay at the ‘Universidad de Montevideo’ and later did a course at ‘Universidad de Navarra’ in Spain. He started his career as a journalist in 1994 at Uruguayan newspaper ‘El Observador’ where he worked for 12 years. He went on the work for El País, one of the best known newspapers in the country. 

In 2007 he moved to Spain to work as the Product Manager of La Bocha, an international polo magazine. He is currently Press Manager of Santa María Polo Club, the most renowned club in Spain as well as Press Manager for the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series. He is also a regular contributor to Pololine.

Gonzalo is an avid sportsman and plays most sports with a passion. He says this is his “main motivation to work and develop the art of sports photography.”
