by The Media Office

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman, Al Habtoor Group has donated 100 Mitsubishi L200 pickup trucks of varying models to the Egyptian Ministry of Defence (MoD) in coordination with Egypt’s Presidential Office.

The trucks, which have already been received by the MoD, will be used to support development in rural areas of Egypt. Some will be donated to farmers to help support production of the agricultural industry. Agriculture remains an important part of the Egyptian economy, and the rural population makes up nearly 60 per cent of the country. The donation falls under the Tahya Misr Fund, which translates to ‘Long Live Egypt’. It was launched by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to help support the Egyptian economy in 2014.

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor said, “We must do what we can to stand with our Egyptian brothers through times of hardship to help Egypt get back on its feet. This is my humble gift ahead of Ramadan.” “Egypt has witnessed enough since the revolt of 2011. It is time to return the country to its former glory,” he added.
