Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group welcomed His Excellency Emmanuel Kamarianakis, the new Consul General of Canada in Dubai. They were joined by Glen McPherson, Senior Trade Commissioner. The meeting took place at the Al Habtoor Group head office on Al Wasl Road on Tuesday March 10, 2015.
The meeting was a courtesy call by His Excellency Kamarianakis, who took up his post as Consul General of Canada to Dubai and the Northern Emirates in February 2015. Prior to that he was Minister - Counsellor & Senior Trade Commissioner, at the Canadian Embassy in Rome, Italy.
HE Kamarianakis has extensive experience in foreign and economic policy and in business development, with significant geographic expertise in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.
The meeting focused on the benefits of living in the United Arab Emirates, and trade and investment opportunities between the UAE and Canada.
Al Habtoor said, “It’s a pleasure to meet His Excellency. The United Arab Emirates and Canada have always had a strong friendship. I would like to encourage more Canadian companies to do business in the UAE - particularly in Dubai.”
