Dubai Open McLaren Silver Cup
Ghantoot Polo Team defeated Desert Palm 2 Polo Team by nine goals to eight to take the Silver Cup in the final on Saturday February 15, 2014 at the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club. The Silver Cup precedes the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series 2014. In the final, Ghantoot’s Abdullah bin Dismal, Juan Zubiaurre, Facundo Sola and Pelayo Berazadi played a great match against a tough opponent. Sola, a well-known player from Argentina, was named the Most Valued Player of the match and the entire Silver Cup series.
Hildon Cup
Meanwhile, in another nail-biting match, Mohammed Al Habtoor and his older brother Rashid battled it out in the Hildon Cup, played alongside the Silver Cup tournament. Mohammed’s Habtoor Polo Team narrowly defeated Rashid’s Mahra by six goals to five.
