Al Habtoor Motors celebrates 30th anniversary of Mitsubishi Pajero

As the official dealer for Mitsubishi in the UAE, Al Habtoor Motors celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the Pajero vehicle at an event at the Habtoor Grand Beach Resort and Spa on Sunday March 25 2012.

The celebration was attended by the international football star – Brazilian and Barcelona player Romário who was happy to lend his name to the well-known brand.

Famed for helping Brazil to win the 1994 FIFA World Cup, Romário was selected as the ‘FIFA World Player of the Year’. He also won the ‘World Cup Golden Ball’ in 1994 and has been named as one of the ‘Top Greatest Living Footballers’ as part of FIFA's 100th anniversary celebrations.

Speaking at the celebration, Karl Hamer, the Managing Director of Al Habtoor Motors Brazilian football star Romário poses with the limited edition Pajero Lamine Fofana, Romário’s Manager; Romário and Karl Hamer, Managing Director of Al Habtoor Motors said: “For us at Al Habtoor Motors, it’s a double delight. We’re happy to welcome two legendary performers – Romário, one of the greatest football stars of our time, and Mitsubishi Pajero, one of the greatest off-road vehicles of our time, as well as the UAE’s best-selling vehicle that has been always a family favourite.” Romário commented: “I’m happy to be a part of the 30th Anniversary Celebrations of Pajero, a vehicle that’s not only popular in this part of the world, but also on the other side of the globe. It’s such a phenomenal success and I wish all the Pajero owners many years of happy adventures.”

To commemorate the special occasion, Al Habtoor Motors released 200 Limited Edition Pajeros in April 2012. Customers who bought them also received special 30th anniversary cards and Romário’s autograph.
