AHG NEWS 30 | Al Shindagah | Issue 140 Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Founding Chairman, Al Habtoor Group, held talks with His Excellency Low Pit Chen, the new Consul-General of the Republic of Singapore in Dubai and Northern Emirates. The meeting took place on Thursday 25 January 2018. His Excellency Low Pit Chin told Al Habtoor about the business and economic climate in Singapore. They also discussed the economic climate in the United Arab Emirates and the evolution of Dubai in particular. Al Habtoor said, “The UAE is the land of opportunity. People from all over the world flock here because of the investment potential it offers. Dubai is an ever-evolving, world-class city. This is why I have invested so much here.” He added, “Dubai has invented itself as a regional hub for business, financial markets, entertainment and so much more.” Prior to moving to Dubai, HE Low Pit Chen was Deputy Director General, Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore. Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor received His Excellency Vipul, Consul General of India to Dubai at his offices on Sunday 7 January 2018. The meeting, which took place at the Al Habtoor Group headquarters, was also attended by Sultan Al Habtoor, President, Al Habtoor Motors; Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice-Chairman & CEO, Al Habtoor Group; Sanjeev Agarwala, Chief Operating Officer – Hospitality, Investments and Real Estate, and Rashid Al Habtoor. This was the first meeting between Al Habtoor and Vipul who took charge as the new Consul-General in April 2017. The conversation focused around India-UAE relations and the strong bond between the two nations and possible bilateral investment opportunities. The Al Habtoor Group Chairman expressed his deep appreciation for the contributions of the Indian community in the development of the United Arab Emirates.
