AHG NEWS 18 | Al Shindagah | Issue 139 Emirates International School – Jumeirah celebrated the United Arab Emirates’ 46th National Day in style. Students from more than 100 different countries got to dress up in local costumes to experience Emirati culture for a day. There were Emirati dancers, including Ayala ‘stick’ dancing, a traditional UAE folk dance accompanied by drumming where dancers form close rows to signify unity and co-operation. Students were delighted when the schools’ founder, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, joined in. National Day celebrations Emirates International School – Jumeirah has been voted in an independent poll by CPI Media Group as the 2nd best Secondary School of the Year for 2017. The poll was conducted by Mother, Baby & Child magazine. The Mother, Baby & Child Awards 2017 recognize the best products and services for children and families across the UAE. The poll drew more than 114,000 votes from parents in the UAE who selected their favourite brands across 44 categories. EIS-J ranked second in the Secondary School of the Year. The Awards, which are in their 6th year, are held each year to acknowledge the contribution which brands, educational establishments, healthcare providers and other entities make towards shaping the future for families in the UAE through their role in helping mothers and nurturing children.
