The UAE Polo Team was crowned the new champion of the McLaren Cup, the first event in the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series. Team UAE, whose patron is Her Highness Sheikha Maitha bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, defeated Desert Palm with a half goal difference in a tightly fought match. The game ended 8.5 goals to 8. The team included Ali Al Merri, Jack Hyde, Matías Benoit and Guillermo Terrera, who was the Most Valuable Player (MPV) of the match. The Best Playing Pony was Jessica, played by Terra in the fourth chukker.
