Al Habtoor received Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy at his office on 1 February, 2016. HE Al Hashimy updated the Al Habtoor Group Chairman on the progress of the EXPO 2020 and came to hear his thoughts on how to make a lasting impression on visitors. Her Excellency said “The Expo 2020 Dubai is expected to attract 25 million visits.”
HE Reem Al Hashimy is the UAE’s Minister of State and CEO of the Dubai World Expo 2020 Bid Committee. The Minister informed the Chairman that the Dubai Expo 2020 would coincide with the UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebrations the following year.
She added, “We need to ensure that we do something really impressive that leaves a meaningful legacy for the country.”
World Expo, one of the world’s oldest and largest international events, will take place in Dubai from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021. It marks the first time the World Expo will be staged in the Middle East.
