Khalaf Al Habtoor welcomed Kofi Rashid, Advisor, Global Policy & Advocacy, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to his office on Al Wasl Road.

Rashid, who is based in Seattle, WA, briefed Al Habtoor on activities undertaken by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Al Habtoor, who launched a Foundation in his name in 2013, shared charitable initiatives conducted by his own Foundation, The Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation (KAHF), and discussed potential collaboration.

The KAHF aims to promote peace and prosperity around the world, and improve the lives of people in the UAE and abroad.

Al Habtoor said, “Charity starts at home, however, there are many problems affecting the entire world that threaten all our safety. Knowledge sharing and collaboration are important to tackle global issues.” The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was launched in 2000 to improve the quality of life for individuals around the world. The Global Policy & Advocacy Division seeks to build strategic relationships and promote policies that will help advance work of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

“Everyone must do whatever they can within their means to help those less fortunate than themselves. I am lucky enough to be in a position today to help others. I encourage everyone to do the same,” Al Habtoor said.
