Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor accepted a JAC S3 SUV from JAC Motors on behalf of his charitable organisation, the Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation (KAHF) on Tuesday May 26, 2015. The car is the first of its kind in the United Arab Emirates. It was handed over by Rasheed Sun, Passenger Car Overseas Sales, Sales Manager, JAC International, Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co. at the Al Habtoor Group head office on Tuesday May 26, 2015. Also present was Sultan Al Habtoor, President, Al Habtoor Motors and Karl Hamer, Managing Director.
Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor said, “I would like to thank JAC International for awarding us the JAC S3 SUV. The Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation will organise a competition throughout universities in Dubai. The lucky winner will drive away with the country’s first-ever JAC S3 SUV.”
The car was initially awarded to Karl Hamer in recognition of Al Habtoor Motors’ successful partnership with JAC, one of the most prestigious car manufacturers in China. Al Habtoor Motors was awarded the ‘Excellent Brand Development Award 2015’ at The Annual Dealers Conference in Shanghai in April, which coincided with the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show.
Karl Hamer said, “We are honoured to receive such a coveted award so early in our partnership. We introduced the UAE market to JAC mid-2014 and have already sold more than 500 cars. We will be bringing in more vehicles in the JAC product line later this year - including SUVs and MPVs - which are perfect for the UAE terrain. ” He added, “I personally test drove the new products in China, and was really impressed. When I tested the S5 I thought I was driving a German-made vehicle. The safety and standard of these cars is very high, and we look forward to introducing these new products to the UAE market in Q4 this year.”
The new product line will include the S3, S5, J5, and M5 models. The S3, designed for young customers, is an SUV with a 1.5 litre petrol engine that develops 102 horsepower and a 146 Nm of torque. The S5 model is a larger urban SUV, featuring a 2.0 litre turbo-supercharged engine. The J5 is a 4-door compact sedan with 1. 8-litre 4-cylinder engine, while the M5 - designed for space - is a seven seater MPV powered by a turbo 2. 0 litre. The entire JAC Motors product line is GSO certified.
