The Al Habtoor Group became the first private company in the UAE to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Emirates Nationals Development Programme (ENDP). ENDP is a government-backed body that aims to build partnerships between the private sector and UAE nationals, and elevate the recruitment and long-term retention of nationals into the workforce.

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman, Al Habtoor Group said, “We want to encourage UAE nationals to the Al Habtoor Group; we are a diverse Group offering many career options. With programmes like this and the Emiratisation programme, we will increase the Emirati presence at the Al Habtoor Group significantly over the coming years.”

The MoU was signed by Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice Chairman and CEO and Essa Al Mulla, Executive Director, ENDP. The agreement states that the Al Habtoor Group will undertake, in coordination with the ENDP, the training of a number of UAE nationals holding diplomas and higher degrees. They will be offered employment upon the successful completion of the graduate training programme, within an eight month period.

The programme will allow a number of Emirati graduates to enter the Al Habtoor Group graduate training programme. The government will fund 30 per cent of the salary for each individual up to a maximum of AED 5,000 as well as up to AED 10,000 in training for each graduate enrolled in the programme.
