This year’s polo season has been busier than ever at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club – the new home ground for the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series. Joanna Andrews brings the highlights of the UAE’s premier polo event.
It was a hat trick for Zedan Polo. The team was crowned the winner of the Julius Baer Gold Cup – the top polo trophy in the Middle East for the third year running. Zedan defeated Habtoor Polo 10-8 in a close game. Octavio Olmedo was named the MVP of the match and Gete Pintura, played by Pablo Mac Donough in the 2nd and 4th chukker, was crowned the Best Playing Pony.
Separately, Mahra Polo Team won the Polo Masters Cup. UAE Polo claimed the McLaren Cup. Bin Drai won the Dubai Challenge Cup and Habtoor Polo claimed the Dubai Cup.
